1 New Media Big Data Mining and   Processing The objective of this course is   to equip students with the knowledge related to theories, algorithms and   tools of big data mining in new media, mainly covering the basic concepts,   data basis, data preprocessing methods, classification algorithms for data   mining, clustering algorithms for data mining, outlier detection algorithms   for data mining, development trends and research frontiers of data mining in   new media, so as to lay a solid foundation for future research and   development work in new media data science.
2 Global Media Communication and   Intercultural Communication The course lectures on the   heterogeneous characteristics of Chinese and Western political systems,   ideologies, history and culture, and aims to cultivate students' abilities in   global media communication and cross-cultural communication. The course is oriented   towards establishing students' correct political identification and   cultivating their love for their country, striving to train high-level   graduate students with international vision, innovative spirit, and practical   abilities.
3 History of Journalism and   Communication  History of Journalism and   Communication is one of the basic components in journalism and communication.   It is a science that studies the history and evolutionary laws of the   journalism. This course explores the process, experience, and theories of the   world's journalism  and analyzes the   birth, evolution, and laws of journalism and communication in China in the   form of special topics, in order to understand the current trends and   characteristics of the journalism and communicati through the study of   history.
4 Academic Writing and   Communication in Social Science This course is offered to   first-year Master students majoring in Journalism and Communication, focusing   on the writing obstacles, writing logic, writing language, and writing norms   of English social science articles. It systematically introduces the writing   methods of English social science academic articles. The course also covers   methods and requirements for academic presentations and communication.
5 Human-AI Communication This course defines and   introduces the emerging field of Human-AI communication from an   interdisciplinary perspective, helping students understand the basic concepts   and framework of Human-AI communication, grasp its inherent features and   basic laws, recognize the basic technologies and typical applications in the   Human-AI communication field, and evaluate the effects of Human-AI   communication.
6 Psychology of Media and   Communication The communication technologies   centered on mobile phones, social media, and smart media technologies, which   are the new media, have been widely used by the public and have had a   significant impact on human life and social development. Communication psychology,   as an important branch of psychology, aims to study the interactive process   between humans and media and communication technologies, and explore the   impact of media technologies on human activities from a psychological   perspective.
7 Frontiers of Data and Algorithm   Governance This course aims to guide the   students to deeply understand the information security issues faced by the   nation, society, and individuals, thereby enhancing their awareness of   information security. On this basis, the course focuses on imparting to the   students key knowledge in the context of emerging technologies, including   theoretical frameworks, organizational structures, and basic principles in   the fields of AI governance, algorithm governance, and cyberspace governance.   In addition, the course is committed to cultivating students' abilities to   conduct in-depth research and understanding of the field at multiple levels   such as theoretical research, strategic planning, and policy consultation,   enabling them to effectively address various fundamental security   issues. 
8 Audiovisual Communication Theory   and Content Production This course enables students to   establish a macro understanding of the development of audio-visual   communication in the media convergence environment and its basic theories,   and to grasp the frontiers of academic research and the trends of industry   development. At the same time, through practical teaching, it enhances   students' ability to produce integrated audio-visual content, equipping them   with the basic skills and literacy to participate in integrated production   practices in the industry.
9 Digital Journalism Theory The digital technology has   brought profound and extensive changes to the journalism industry, driving   the transformation of news production and dissemination modes in the digital   information communication context. The course also emphasizes the national sentiment   and international vision while training the high-quality all-media   comprehensive news communication talents. Through the study of this course,   students can establish a complete theoretical foundation of digital   journalism, grasp the development law of digital journalism, and master the   theoretical and practical basis for conducting digital journalism practices.
10 Fundamentals of New Media   Programming This course is a basic course   for Python programming. It systematically introduces Python programming, web   crawler, data analysis tools, data visualization tools, text analysis basic   tools, etc.
11 Data Visualization: Techniques,   Tools, and Best Practices in News This course aims to give   students a solid understanding of the principles, techniques, and tools of   data visualization, enabling them to effectively convey information through   visual data when writing news. Students will learn how to create clear and   effective data visualization images, and they will also learn how to select   the appropriate visualization methods and tools for specific tasks. Through   practical exercises, students will develop the skills needed to effectively   communicate complex information through visual expression.
12 Theoretical Foundations of   Journalism and Communication As a basic discipline formed on   the basis of interdisciplinary synthesis and cross-crossing of both   journalism and communication, Journalism and Communication is a young   discipline at home and abroad. This course examines the knowledge system such   as the origin, process, value and law of journalism and communication. It   also analyze the change, development mode and professionalism of news ecology   in the network era. It pays attention to the understanding and application of   psychological mechanism of transmission, audience behavior research,   communication effect and so on.

Journalism Law and Communication   Ethics is the core course of for the major of Journalism and Communication .   The course is interdisciplinary, involving theories and knowledge in multiple   fields. This course is divided into two parts: journalistic ethics and   legislation.
14 Media Management This course emphasizes the   combination of theory and practice, focuses on the new requirements of new   media environment for traditional media operation and management, guides   students to pay attention to the cutting-edge trends of media development and   issues of media operation and management, and helps students understand the   basic laws and practical trends of media operation and management under the   trend of media convergence. This will comprehensively enhance students'   product awareness, copyright awareness, marketing awareness, user awareness   and operational awareness.
15 Global Media Communication   Practice Based on the national   requirements for improving global media communication ability, this course   analyzes many cultural landscapes, political systems, communication issues   and practices in global media communication under the background of   globalization from the perspectives of inter-cultural communication and   political communication, in order to cultivate students' practical ability in   global media communication. The course will fully reveal the deep meaning of   global media communication and outline the disciplinary system.
16 Frontiers of Intelligent Media   Practice This course systematically   explains the basic knowledge and frontier trends of intelligent new media.   First of all, it explains the basic principles of intelligent new media in   detail from the perspective of  basic concepts and key technologies. Secondly,   it focuses on the new application model of AI + new media. Finally, it   introduces the operation management strategy and typical product examples of   intelligent new media.
17 New Media Research This course takes the   perspective of new media as the core of the study and combines a series of   latest and typical case studies to deeply explore the profound impact of the   development of new media on the development of modern society and the new   ways it opens up. The course not only explains in detail how to use new media   to effectively cope with social risks, stimulate social mobilization,   strengthen public opinion supervision and promote virtual social autonomy and   other operation methods, but also provides specific guidance and help for   innovative thinking in media application.
18 Convergence Journalism and   Practice This course is a practical   course for master students, covering the cutting-edge theoretical and   practical issues of integrating journalism. It is also an important course   that keeps up with the development of The times. Combined with media practice   and business form change, this course will conduct case analysis on the   exploration of fusion news by mainstream media at home and abroad, and give   an all-round perspective and explanation of various forms of fusion news,   including short video creation, mobile news live broadcast, interactive and   immersive narrative, news gathering and editing and other practical content.
